Theatre Pathways Project

Hackney Theatre Pathways is based on the established relationship between seven theatre sector employers (Hackney Theatre Partnership) who will create pathways to employment through training and work experience.

This new programme is funded by the London Development Agency and is targeted at young people aged 16-25. We have a range of opportunities to suit those without any qualifications through to young graduates. Placements and training opportunities will be suitable for young people on benefits but can also be tailored to work along side other paid employment.

The programme:

  • Promotes work opportunities in the theatre and performance sector to young people
  • Provides employment support and improves participants’ readiness to work
  • Provides skills development, work experience and accredited training in areas
    • related to the performance sector:
    • community arts facilitation,
    • arts administrationarts marketing,
    • technical theatre and stage management,
    • front of house and box office operations.

All placements will be provided with:

  • Travel expenses and child care costs
  • Training and skills development
  • A key worker from the Pathways team to help access further opportunities and improve readiness for work.

If you know any young people who may be interested in finding out more about the programme please contact Jit Mistry or Karen Fender at Immediate Theatre on 020 7683 0233 or email theatrepathways@immediate-theatre.com.
